Dear Parents,

Thank you for all your donations to our basket.  Baskets for the Sock Hop raffle and silent auction.  Please come and check out all the baskets at the Sock Hop on Friday, April 13th.lStoneleigh Elementary Sock HopThe Sock Hop will be from 4:30 to 7:00pm.  It will be a great time to get together as a family, dance, mingle, and have fun!  Pizza dinner will be available, as well as face painting and a photo booth.  I hope to see you there.  

We have scheduled a field trip to the Discovery Center and Nature Center.  The field trip will be on Friday, May 11th.  The first five parents that email me to volunteer as a chaperone will have their way paid for and will need to ride the bus with us. Others are welcome to attend but will need to drive there on your own and pay the normal fee.

Reading: This week we will be reading a folktale called “Half-Chicken” as well as a traditional tale titled “The Lion and the Mouse”.  Students will learn to identify cause and effect relationships, different character’s point of view, and a moral of a story.

Spelling: Prefixes re- & un-

The spelling words are located on the back of the newsletter. Please practice the spelling words with your child so they will be ready for the test on Friday.

Grammar: Students will be working with irregular action verbs and antonyms.

Writing:  Informative Writing

Math: Students will continue with three-digit addition and subtraction. They will compare three-digit numbers and solve word problems.
